Description

This is from another of my favorite obscure 80's manga series. Justy definitely did not get good treatment in the limited release in America that Viz produced. The Cosmo Police are a special arm of the Galactic Patrol. They handle esper crimes exclusively. And their ranks are exclusively espers as well. The title character, Justy Kaizadd, is the esper with the most raw power of the corp.

But the series is as much about the relationships between Justy and his immediate group of friends/family as it is with high powered esper battles and Space Opera. It's a series with a lot of depth. And it deserved better.

This drawing was produced as the cover of Minds Eye APA, issue #12. Done with pencil then inked.

I remember Mind’s Eye…good times.


One reason I preferred Tsuguo Okazaki’s manga over the OVA is that Okazaki makes Justy work for his victories. I mean, look what Justy had to go through to beat that invader-guy from Andromeda. Not to mention the fact that Justy could never even match, let alone overpower, Raaghan Naaz. Whereas in the OVA, Justy beats the Criminal ESPers so easily,

I might as well be watching Star Simac or Locke the Superman.


That being said, I should point out that this is the best Justy fanart on DA.
